Current Status and Development of Forging Automation Technology (II)

 2024-08-12 | View:1168

With the advancement of dual carbon goals, changes in the energy structure are driving the forging industry towards low-carbon and zero-carbon transformation. The popularization and improvement of automation technology have gradually shifted forging products from ordinary to precision grades, and forging materials from quenched and tempered steel to energy-saving non-quenched and tempered steel. The improvement in weight and size tolerance control and the application of temperature-controlled cooling technology have further enhanced processing efficiency and reduced manufacturing costs.

Significant progress has also been made in automation-related application technologies. More and more forging companies are increasing their application of forging automation and information technology. Through the use of data acquisition systems, robots, mobile mechanical arms, step-by-step conveying mechanisms, online detection systems, and bus control systems, they have achieved interconnection between equipment and real-time monitoring of the production process. At the same time, the entire forging production process, including automatic feeding, heating, descaling, forming, trimming, shaping, inspection, stacking, and packaging, has achieved full-line automation.

With the continuous development of information technology, advanced digital technologies such as modular heating technology, energy-saving servo forging equipment, environmentally friendly lubrication, full-process quality traceability technology for forgings, online automatic monitoring of forging process parameters, online detection of key dimensions of forgings, and process parameter optimization and control compensation based on big data are increasingly being applied in the forging industry.

In recent years, a number of excellent forging automation integrated equipment suppliers have emerged in the industry. They provide a full range of services from the design of forging automation production lines, tooling and mold base manufacturing, to the integration of hydraulic automatic mold locking systems, quick mold change systems and equipment, automated spraying systems and equipment, step beam conveying systems and equipment, and turnkey project implementation. After years of development, these automation technology equipment have been continuously iterated and become increasingly mature, significantly reducing the cost of automation implementation. The replacement of humans by machines has entered a stage of widespread adoption.

We will continue to introduce the latest developments in forging automation technology, so please stay tuned.
